Glenn Cook’s 1989 Dave Russell

Here’s an ad published in the December 1989 issue of 220.

I’m posting this to remind myself to do future posts about Bedford Harriers and Dave Russell. The bike is the one that Glenn Cook used in Avignon. The photo is taken the week after. At the European Long Course Championships in Rodekro, Denmark. Cook DNFed. But his wife, Sarah Coope, won.

Great prices. I grew up about 2km from the shop in Chalvey. And paid Dave £350 for my first serious race bike in July 1989. It was a Reynolds 501 frame with a Shimano 105 groupset. There’s a photo of it here.
